Activity:  DBA.AD003.069.001 / PBIS – Economic management of agricultural, forest, and marine resources

According to several authors, the current agro-food system is responsible for various environmental and social problems, among which the waste of resources (food, water, energy, soil, identity), economic and social inequality, situations of food insecurity, hunger and obesity, etc. The relations between the economic management of agricultural, marine, and forest resources on the one hand and politics, society, culture, environment, and landscape on the other hand are at the centre of a broad debate whose ultimate goal is to understand how to make the agro-food system more sustainable and democratic.
This module aims to participate in the scientific debate with an analytical-investigative and operational contribution, by studying supply chains and local networks and systems and by defining causes and possible solutions.
The innovative potential of the module is due to the coming together of strongly interdisciplinary scientific competences (agricultural economics, engineering management, sociology, and political, legal, and educational sciences).
