Project leader: Elena Maria Ragazzi

Activity:  DUS.AD010.008.001 / Evaluation of public policies

This project brings together various assessment investigations, carried out with the most rigorous methodologies currently available, combining multidisciplinary skills and quantitative methods (counterfactual analysis, propensity score matching and other matching techniques, representative sampling, analysis and validation of administrative or accounting data) as well as qualitative methods (in-depth analysis of the text of interviews and focus groups). These methodological skills are brought into play within an in-depth debate and exchange with policy-makers, which is indispensable to correctly set up the assessment design. At the same time, the analysis and modeling of cases representing innovative practices make it possible to combine the study of existing situations with an exploration of the new frontiers of social innovation.
The assessment methodologies proposed are mainly applied to development policies relying on the EU Structural Funds (social, labor, territorial, and agricultural policies), but they can also be extended to other fields, such as cultural, gender, healthcare, innovation, and environmental policies.
