NEW Statistics on Research and Innovation - 2015


The National Research Council (CNR) continues updating the publication “Statistics on Research and Innovation – ITALY” that has been edited by the Institute of research on firms and development (CERIS), 2010.
The publication can be considered a work in progress, which presents selected data, as soon as they are available, as well as tables and figures with new indicators on science, technology and innovation.
For a long time the Rome research unit of the Research Institute of Sustainable Economic Growth-IRCRES (former CERIS) has been carrying out an activity of documentation and elaboration of indicators and data concerning the sector of science and technology. Anna Maria Scarda (IRCRES-CNR associate) handled the selection and construction of the most relevant indicators, with the contribution of Mario De Marchi and the technical assistance of Enrico Viarisio of the Turin headquarter of IRCRES, who cooperates in collecting and elaborating the data and in drawing up graphs and tables.

Science and Technology Indicators 2014 update

The National Research Council (CNR) brings up-to-date the publication “Statistics on Research and Innovation – ITALY” that has been edited by the Institute of research on firms and development (CERIS), 2010. Istat data on Italy published at the end of 2013 are the source of the first set of tables and figures.
For a long time the Rome research unit of CERIS has been carrying out an activity of documentation and elaboration of indicators and data concerning the sector of science and technology. Maurizio Rocchi is responsible for the targeted project “Science and Innovation” implemented by this unit, within which the publication has been realized. Anna Maria Scarda (Ceris-Cnr associate) handled the selection and construction of the most relevant indicators, with the contribution of Mario De Marchi and the technical assistance of Enrico Viarisio of the Turin headquarter of Ceris, who cooperates in collecting and elaborating the data and in drawing up graphs and tables.

Science and Technology Indicators 2013 update

 The National Research Council (CNR) brings up-to-date the publication “Statistics on Research ad Innovation – ITALY” that has been edited by the Institute of research on firms and development (CERIS), 2010.

The publication can be considered a work in progress, which presents selected data, as soon as they are available, as well as tables and figures with new indicators on science, technology and innovation. Istat data on Italy published at the end of 2012 are the source of the first set of tables and figures. In particular, the chapter on innovation has been enriched with information and data gathered by a specific Istat survey.
For a long time the Rome research unit of CERIS has been carrying out an activity of documentation and elaboration of indicators and data concerning the sector of science and technology . Maurizio Rocchi is responsible for the targeted project “Science and Innovation” implemented by this unit, within which the publication has been realized. Anna Maria Scarda (Ceris-Cnr associate) handled the selection and construction of the most relevant indicators, with the contribution of Mario De Marchi and the technical assistance of Enrico Viarisio of the Turin headquarter of Ceris, who cooperates in collecting and elaborating the data and in drawing up graphs and tables.

Statistics on Research and Innovation. Italy

The National Research Council (CNR) brings up-to-date the publication "Statistics on research and innovation. ITALY" that has been edited by the Institute of research on firm and development (CERIS), 2012.
Data on financial and human resources and public intervention for R&D provide detailed information on funding, expenditure and personnel working both in the public and the private sectors, at central and local levels and in the universities. They are presented along with data on patents, scientific publications, Technological Balance of Payments, international trade of high-tech products and innovations regarding the Italian economic system. The international comparisons concern both the inputs and the outputs of the Research and Technology system, in order to set the country's performances in the context where it has to compete.
Figures and tables have been updated as new statistical information has become available till March 2012. They form a useful tool for people dealing with the research and technology sector. For a long time the Rome research unit of CERIS activity has been carrying out an activity of documentation and elaboration of indicators and data concerning the sector of science and technology. Maurizio Rocchi is responsible for the targeted project “Science and Innovation” implemented within this unit, within which the publication has been realized. Anna Maria Scarda (CERIS-CNR associate) and Mario De Marchi handled the selection and construction of the most relevant indicators. Cinzia Spaziani’s fundamental contribution consisted in collecting and elaborating the data and in drawing up graphs and tables.

The National Research Council presents the second edition of the publication "Statistics on research and innovation. ITALY", that has been edited by the Institute of research on firm and development (CERIS).
This publication of a statistical nature shows the outcomes resulting from an activity of documentation and elaboration of indicators and data concerning the sector of Science and Technology; such activity has been carried out for a long time by the Rome research unit of CERIS (in which a part of the personnel of the former "Institute of studies on scientific research and documentation - ISRDS" joined).
Data on financial and human resources and public intervention for R&D provide detailed information on funding, expenditure and personnel working both in the public and the private sectors, at central and local levels and in the universities. They are presented along with data on patents, scientific publications, Technological Balance of Payments, international trade of high-tech products and innovations regarding the Italian economic system. The National Research Council, in agreement with the Ministry of University and research, presents the publication "Statistics on research and innovation. ITALY", that has been edited by the Institute of research on firm and development (CERIS).
This publication of a statistical nature shows the outcomes resulting from an activity of documentation and elaboration of indicators and data concerning the sector of Science and Technology; such activity has been carried out for a long time by the Rome research unit of CERIS (in which a part of the personnel of the former "Institute of studies on scientific research and documentation - ISRDS" joined).
