The National Research Council<\/strong> (CNR) research team’s visit to Taiwan has concluded as part of the Italy-Taiwan bilateral collaboration project dedicated to the study of mountain ecosystems and biodiversity conservation (Conservation and Restoration of Ecosystem Services for Promoting Biodiversity: A Critical Zone Perspective to Compare Italy and Taiwan Mountain Study Sites<\/strong>).
\nThe delegation is composed of experts from two departments, CNR-DSU and CNR-DSSTTA, and four research institutes: CNR-IIA, CNR-IGG, CNR-IRET and CNR-IRCrES.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The following are some highlights from the visit.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In Taipei, Researchers visited the Department of Geography at NTU. Here, they met with the Director and other researchers and they continued at the \ud835\udc0d\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc2d\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc28\ud835\udc27\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc25 \ud835\udc13\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc30\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc27 \ud835\udc14\ud835\udc27\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc2f\ud835\udc1e\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc2c\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc2d\ud835\udc32 \ud835\udc12\ud835\udc28\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc25 \ud835\udc0c\ud835\udc2e\ud835\udc2c\ud835\udc1e\ud835\udc2e\ud835\udc26, which collects soil samples from all over Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Xitou Nature Education Center<\/strong> they visited the cloud forest and bamboo forest with researchers Herlin Chien and Chung-I Chen. They then moved on to the Fenghuang Nature Education Area<\/strong>, hosted by Dr. Sen-Sung Cheng, an NTU associate, where they visited organic tea and coffee fields.<\/span><\/p>\n

Visit to the Errfong irrigation system<\/strong> under the valuable guidance of prof. Ting, who dedicated his life to this opera. Then concluded with a meeting at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology<\/strong> with Prof. Wu, head of the NPUST Forestry Department, the faculty and students.<\/p>\n
