Decarbonisation, green economy and circular economy |

The ecological transition to climate neutrality is at the top of the EU agenda and is expected to bring substantial socio-economical change. It is both an urgent challenge and an opportunity to put Europe on a path of sustainable and inclusive growth. The green economy and circular economy shape the context in which this process takes place, so that sustainable economic activities are expanded and resource use is kept within the planetary boundaries. The research activities of IRCrES (CNR) contribute to analysing the macroeconomic dimension of the ecological transition and environmental policies, to support decision-makers. Moreover, IRCrES develops research in the fields of environmental and resource economics, with a specific focus on waste management, energy, innovation and labour in the ecological transition. Research methodologies include political economy approaches, surveys of economic actors and quantitative methods (statistics and econometrics) and involve multidisciplinary collaborations.
