Higher Education and Research Evaluation

The line brings together studies on models, methods, tools and effects of research evaluation as to organizations, programs, institutions and policies.

The interest is aimed at evaluating the processes, outputs and impact (scientific, economic and social impact) of research and policies. Particularly relevant aspects include:

  • evaluation of the university and research institutions (research, teaching, third mission)
  • impact of evaluation on scientific communities (research processes, methods, modes of publication and dissemination of results)
  • evaluation of research and development programs and institutional and individual collaborations
  • summative and formative methods of research and development evaluation, theory-based evaluation, democratic evaluation
  • impact of national and regional incentive policies for research and development
  • machine learning for the evaluation of research and development policies
