SHORT BIO

Elena Ragazzi has been working at CNR-IRCrES (former CNR-Ceris) as a researcher since 1989. She is the author of more than 250 works of applied economics and policy evaluation. She was project leader of several projects, both European and national, coordinating the action of numerous partners, integrating multidisciplinary working groups and mixed groups of researchers and professionals. She organized and chaired special sessions on impact assessment and counterfactual methods at the annual conferences of the European, Italian and French regional science associations. Her research activity in recent years has focused on the theme of policy evaluation - in particular on training and work, but also on regulation, culture, local development and innovation - coordinating the Ircres working group in large-scale work that have combined sophisticated and rigorous quantitative methods to qualitative insights, fully integrating the two types of contributions.

TEACHING

Elena Ragazzi teaches as an external professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin. She has been teaching since 1993 as assistant. Since 1999 she teaches managerial economics in different engineering courses:

  • 1999-2000 Mechanical engineering
  • 2000-2001 Electrical engineering
  • 2000-2001 Materials engineering

SHORT BIO

Mario Coccia, Research Director.

I am a social scientist at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).

My passion is to study the primary sources of socioeconomic phenomena with novel hypothesis-driven researches that contribute new knowledge to help address and solve problems related to environment and human society at a regional or global scale.

In particular, my goal is to make cross-disciplinary studies that illuminate and advance fundamental understanding within following research fields:

  • Origin, evolution and diffusion of technology
  • Artificial Intelligence in medicine
  • Evolution of Science
  • Interaction between total environment (which interfaces the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and anthroposphere) and diseases
  • Nano-, micro-, meso-, and macro-scale aspects of materials and technologies for sustainable development
  • All aspects of environmental pollution and its effects on ecosystems and human health
  • Interaction between contaminant exposure and biological, ecological, and human health effects, including those of climate change.
  • Anthropogenic and technological issues of global relevance
