Evaluation of safety and security policies: Risk and climate change
The seminar series “Evaluation of safety and security policies” organized by Université Gustave Eiffel, CNR-IRCrES, CNR-IAC, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Sapienza Università di Roma and Gran Sasso Science Institute, will host an online seminar titled “Risk and Climate Change” scheduled for Thursday, 18 September 2025, from 14:00 to 15:30 (CET).
Speakers: Anne Ruas (Université Gustave Eiffel), discussant Dominique Mignot (Université Gustave Eiffel). Open discussion will follow the presentations. More info and link to partecipate in the leaftlet.
In her presentation Anne Ruas will present the result of the FreshWay project, which that analyses the trajectories of different French cities to better resist to heat waves. Four trajectories are identified: the trajectory of the implementation of solutions (what has been done), the trajectory of the physical space (how the physical space has evolved), the trajectory of urban planning (the content and evolution of urban planning) and finally the trajectory of the local system (the strategy, competencies and choices made by the city). This analysis allows for differentiating cities based on their cooling capacity, the density, the danger they face as well as the willingness of the political teams.
