Abstract

This paper offers a brief review of some essays on the themes of stress, burnout and mindfulness. It is focused on the application of MBSR stress reduction protocols to teachers, a specific professional category exposed to the risk of developing Burnout syndrome.
In emergency situations, the risk of developing work-related stress syndromes increases significantly in the helping professions: the precise purpose of this work is to assess the effectiveness of stress management tools based on mindfulness meditation in the Italian context to place them between primary, secondary and tertiary prevention levels, as to saving and improving health and quality of life.
