Giuseppe Giulio Calabrese is senior researcher at CNR-Ircres which he joined in 1988. He is editor in chief of the International Journal of Automotive Technology and Management and member of the International Steering Committee of GERPISA.
His main areas of research are focused on industrial organization, SMEs, technological innovation, industrial policy, balance sheets analysis and automotive industry.
In the field of innovation policy, he analysed the new Italian institutional framework (devolution), the Italian policy for innovation at the national and regional level above all concerning R&D, industrial districts and the measures to reduce the gap between SMEs technology approach and the State aids programs.
His latest work in the field of the automotive industry concerns new product development, production networks and the role SMES, R&D organization, alternative fuel vehicle, car stylist and supply chain.

Giuseppe Giulio Calabrese taught as visiting professor managerial economics at University of Turin and Polytechnic of Turin from 2000 to 2014.
