Abstract
The problem of population aging is one of the most relevant for health systems. A tool used to promote healthy active aging is APA, Adapted Physical Activity, a protocol of anaerobic exercises to be carried out in groups, designed for elderly subjects that suffer from chronic diseases and aimed at changing their life style, for primary and tertiary prevention of disability.
RIMA is an experimental research project, that applies a counterfactual approach with two main objectives:
- Analyzing the effectiveness of the APA protocol as a prevention tool;
- Developing a cost-benefit analysis based on the impact results.
This research responds to specific needs of ASLTO4 and involves both general practitioners and community nursing. Operational partners are UISP Ciriè Settimo Chivasso, UISP Ivrea and Canavese and asd MeetLab.
