Abstract

Community Castles is a project that involves the municipalities of Rovasenda and Buronzo (Vercelli) for the enhancement of the local cultural heritage and the facilitation of civic participation. The project looks at the history of the local area and lays the foundations for the development of a permanent cultural process. On the one hand, it wants to combat the degradation of the landscape and the loss of traditional agricultural culture, promoting knowledge of what exists, the enhancement of tangible and intangible wealth and the economic development of the area. On the other hand, it sees the difficulties of citizens who live in rural areas of our country and who suffer hardships due to hydrogeological instability, depopulation and lack of services, and tries to interpret their needs, stimulating active participation in community life, to create a community that is aware, active, ecological and capable of planning its own future.
